Below are a list of frequently asked questions regarding registration and packet pickup:
You may register either online, at early packet pick-up before the race. For MAIL IN registration, select check/cash and enter your registration information. Print this and mail in with your check. There will only be race day registration IF SPACE IS AVAILABLE. If so, you will register online with your smartphone and we will issue you a bib on-site.
See the Course page for all packet pickup times and locations.
Every participant is guaranteed a shirt. Everyone registered prior to Sept. 14th will have the shirt size they selected during online registration. Packet pickup and same day registrants will receive a shirt on a first come, first serve basis. We do our best to get everyone the size they want.
After the race, you can exchange your shirt from the remaining sizes available.
This race is chip timed, so your time will begin when you cross the starting line. You don't need to do anything to change your wave start time. Simply begin with the start wave of your choice.
You should choose a wave start time that will allow you to end at approximately 3 pm. Click here to predict your start time.
TATHR Event Timing will be timing the event. We will use our new, state of the art MyLaps Bibtag Timing System. Your timing chip will be on the back of your racing number bib. Participants must where their number on the FRONT of their outer garment. Participants must wear a race number bib to get an official time and be included in the results.
Results will be posted here on the race website online and can be found by scanning the QR code on your bib. You may also enter the Results Kiosk after the race and type in your bib number on one of the laptops to receive a print out of your time and pace.
You'll stay on Aska Rd. and go all the way down to Dry Branch Rd. which will be on your left. As you go onto Dry Branch Rd, there will be a sharp turn to the right to continue on Dry Branch. If you turn the other way to your left you'll be going down Deer Hunter Rd. which takes you off Dry Branch Rd. The road entering into the Start/Finish location will be on your right about a mile down, you will see a boat parking area and a stop sign. You just turn in there and it dead ends into a parking lot.
The nearest address to the Lake Recreation Area: 2658 Dry Branch Road Blue Ridge GA. 30513, THAT IS NOT THE ADDRESS TO THE START/FINISH just the closest address to that location. Below I’ve pasted the satellite image for more of a visual understanding.
When you arrive at the Blue Ridge Lake Recreational Area the parking lot dead ends. You can park your car there. There is more parking on a side parking lot. We will be down by the lake beach front and you can check in at the registration booth. First wave goes off at 6am!
Yep! We ask that you arrive a half hour before the wave you want to run in.
Your friends and family can cheer you on and give you aid at the Deep Gap Aid Station. It's the Aid Station that the 50K runners pass two times, mile 7 and 23. It is off Aska Road. It has a little brown sign that says, “National Forest.” It's little so you need to keep an eye out for it.
First, know your BIB# to check in at the aid stations, that will let us know you’ve arrived and are on track! We will have two Sweepers on the trail. They are our eyes and ears on the trail. Even though they will be out there they are NOT omniscient so please pay attention to pink ribbon and signage that are located at critical intersections. You can only get lost once you are on the trails if you stray off the main trail. These trails do not split off onto other trails. The only option is to continue straight on the trail. The sweepers will stay in communication with each trail aid station through the race day. Don't worry....you are not alone.
You will be given a map to stay on course and avoid getting lost. We have placed the routes to the 50K and 30K on the course page and it shows the elevation levels for each trail.
Again, know your BIB# at each aid station call out your number/check in so they can mark you off. This shows us that you got there safely. If seriously injured, Stay in one place! We have access for emergency vehicles are at the main aid stations and Bear Lane located on the map. With the help of Fannin County and Gilmer County EMS we will have further assistance with their vehicles and search and rescue team. They will take care of you.
We have 3 full aid stations (one you pass 2 times making it 4). Those aid stations consist of first aid supplies, which we will not give aid but you are welcome to use/apply yourself. They will have food, water and directional assistance. We have one water/directional station at the beginning of the Green Mountain trail head as you leave the old forest service road (Bear Lane). The Deep Gap Aid Station will have a porta-potty. That is at mile 7 and for the 50K runners it's mile 23 as well.
